CV Services Group is a multi-disciplinary services provider delivering integrated solutions across infrastructure, construction, asset maintenance, power and signage. 

Their client, Goodstart Early Learning are Australia’s largest early learning and childcare provider. Safe connection of generators to the sites during periods of scheduled or unplanned power outages is paramount to the ongoing wellbeing of the children in their care. 

Scope of Works

• Assess each of the 14 Townsville sites for alternate supply connection.
• Upgrade of the Main Switchboard as required for compliance.
• Design, supply and install a new metering enclosure and functional devices in accordance with Energy QLD (Ergon) QECM and MIR.
• Co-ordinate metering reconnection.
• Supply and install generator alternate supply capability.
• Include the connection enclosure, circuit breaker and change over device in accordance with AS/NZS3000 Section 7.

Key Outcomes

Haz-Elec Industries designed a modular switchboard solution that allows safe and compliant connection of generator alternate supply to the building. With a dedicated connection enclosure, safety and compliance is maintained with no requirement to access live sections of the switchboard. 

9 sites required full Main Switchboard upgrades, and a total of 12 sites now provided with generator connection.
